Ms Sarah Richardson
General Manager
Sarah has over 15 years’ experience in the Health Care industry. Starting her career in Pathology at the Royal Hobart Hospital, central processing unit, where she completed her Certificate III in Business Office Administration. Sarah then moved into general practice, where she managed 5 sites in Tasmania over a seven year period. In 2012 Sarah joined the Ochre Health, starting as a locum coordinator, in 2013 Sarah was promoted into an Area Manager position and relocated to Canberra where she successfully oversaw the opening of a number of new clinics.
GP2U are delighted to now have Sarah working with us.
Dr James Freeman
Founder
James is the founding owner of GP2U Telehealth and an executive director with responsibilities for platform development and clinical oversight. He brings 20 years of clinical and information technology experience to the company and remains a Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Tasmania.
James first learnt to program on a TRS-80 and was involved in the first Dot-com boom in both the UK and South Africa. A life long passion for all things medical, engineering and IT culminated in the formation of GP2U with the goal being to help move Telehealth from its niche in the world of academia into more mainstream use.
James has a B.Sc. and MB,BS from UTAS and is on the Dean's Roll of Excellence for outstanding academic achievement.
Mr Alan Haggai
CTO
Alan is a skilled developer who cut his teeth in the world of open source server software having recieved a grant from The Perl Foundation to maintain a number of key software components. He has an extensive range of skills including C, C++, Perl, Java, SQL, Bash, Linux, Vim and Git. He is a proponent of agile software development and its core methadology adaptive planning, evolutionary development, early delivery, and continual improvement. He is also a skilled practitioner in the fine art of rubber duck debugging.
Alan has a Bachelor of Computer Science and Techology from the Chengannur College of Engineering and has been a Grant Manager at the Perl Foundation since 2010.
Mrs Jan Symmington
Executive Assistant
Jan joined GP2U two years ago as Executive Assistant to the Founder, Dr James Freeman, and the General Manager, Sarah Richardson.
Jan has many years experience in varying corporate sectors including Administration, PA, EA and has previously run her own successful business. She has excellent communication skills and is an author of a published textbook.
Mr Amit Vohra
Chairman Of The Board
As a seasoned senior executive with expertise in primary health, GP training, industrial relations, aboriginal health member advocacy and support and business development, Amit Vohra has spent the past ten years developing in-depth industry networks and relationships in the public and private health care sector.
With a passion for grassroots-driven and outcome-focused practical solutions, Amit brings a fresh, entrepreneurial outlook to health policy. Listed amongst the Top 50 Influential People in General Practice in 2010 by Australian Doctor, Amit is widely recognised as a thought leader on key national health system issues who works collaboratively with stakeholders to lead and drive a change agenda. As a champion of positive policy change, he has played an instrumental role in the development of social media campaigns, aimed at shaping policy change and improving member engagement. His most recent campaign; #scrapthecap (www.scrapthecap.com.au) won a national award for best political campaign.
With specialist skills in business development, corporate governance and board improvement, health policy development and government relations, Amit is an inspiring leader who effectively establishes new projects in complex environments and a change agent, who can drive efficiency and improvement agenda in existing projects.
Away from the office, Amit indulges his passions for travel, friends and family, running, swimming and good food and has recently completed a PhD. Inspired by the Steve Jobs’ assertion, “I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance”, Amit is driven by an unwavering desire to transform Australian organizations from good to great by creating sustainable values-based growth solutions.
Mrs Julie Andrews
Director
Julie is the Chief Officer Member Health at HCF where her role covers: Strategy development and implementation; Health services management; Health services contracting and claims management; Corporate and Clinical Governance; Organisational change facilitation. Prior to joining HCF Julie spent 5 years the CEO of Australian Home Care and 10 years with Medibank Private where she was the Executive General Manager, Strategy and Planning for Medibank Health Solutions.
Julie has a B.Sc, AICD and a graduate diploma in Business Management from Monash University.
Mr John McDonald
Director
John has held senior roles in a number of professional and community organisations including being a past President of Rotary, Secretary of the Kingborough Lions (soccer), Lecturer with the Faculty of Law at UTAS, and General Counsel to Forestry Tasmania. He is currently the President of TasCAHRD (AIDS council).
He maintains a boutique legal practice and is the Ethicist for the Safety Institute of Australia.
John has been instumental in ensuring GP2U maintains full regulatory compliance in what is a very complex environment.
He has a B.Sc. (For) from ANU and an LL.B (Hons) from UTAS.
Dr Andrew Pascoe
Director
Andrew is executive chairman of the Asia Pacific eHealth Group (APeHG) , bringing innovative cloud based electronic health record solutions and decision support to health professionals throughout the Asia Pacific region.
He is an active medical practitioner of over 30 years standing, did his medical training at Monash University and business training at AGSM.
Andrew was co-founder of the Medical One Group of Companies and until recently executive director. Medical One is one of Australia’s largest privately owned health businesses and consists of a large number of multi-disciplinary Primary Care centres; an executive health division: Zedmed, a provider medical software to Australian doctors: and MRE, managing health records for the insurance industry.
He is a passionate supporter of the Swans in the AFL and sits on the Sydney Swans foundation board.
Andrew has an MB,BS from Monash University where he was President of AMSA
