We've been recommending Mirial Softphone since we began. It's proven to be a effective and economical video conferencing tool with an easy and intuitive user interface. Some months ago Lifesize, a division of Logitech, purchased Mirial, and with it Mirial Softphone. Since then it has only been a matter of time before Lifesize applied their own vision to the excellent Mirial product. This has now happened and the latest upgrade of Mirial actually replaces Mirial Softphone with a new product called Lifesize Softphone.
While the changes to the familiar Mirial interface are obvious there are some subtle differences in the way the new Lifesize Softphone works. Unfortunately these changes initially broke interoperability between GP2U and Mirial/Lifesize.
We are happy to say Lifesize has been very responsive to our concerns and pleased to report full interoperability between GP2U and Lifesize has now been restored. We support both the new Lifesize Softphone for H323 connectivity and the established Lifesize Desktop solution for SIP connectivity.
