Additional Terms for HCF Members
HOW IS MY PRIVACY AND HEALTH DATA PROTECTED?
The following additional provisions apply to HCF members, HCF employees and persons who have HCF Overseas Visitors Health Cover who are participating in a HCF program which involves the provision of Our Services, including for example on a partially or fully subsidised basis (collectively, “Eligible Person”).
If you are an Eligible Person and you wish to access Our Services We will collect the following information from you and share it with HCF to confirm your eligibility:
- name
- date of birth
- HCF membership number and
- corporate code where necessary and appropriate
If you are an Eligible Person and are not able to provide this information, We may not be able to provide you with the Service(s) that you request.
We will also disclose to HCF the date of your participation in Our Services. This is for billing and reconciliation purposes. We will not disclose any other personal information with HCF.
With your consent, We may also disclose your personal information to your regular GP or other healthcare provider.
We will not use any collected health data for any purpose unrelated to the purpose for which you provided it. Only de-identified aggregate data will be used in reporting sent to HCF for the purposes of evaluating the service; no individuals will be identifiable.

HOW IS MY PRIVACY AND HEALTH DATA PROTECTED?
The personal information that you provide to GP2U is used and disclosed only for the purpose of confirming your eligibility, billing and delivering and evaluating the service. If you don’t provide this information, GP2U may not be able to provide you with the requested health service.
GP2U won’t disclose your personal information to HCF other than your name, date of birth, membership number and date of participation to allow HCF to process the claim and evaluate the service. HCF will handle your information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is available at: https://www.hcf.com.au/overseas-health-cover/privacy-policy.
WHY DOES GP2U COLLECT HEALTH INFORMATION?
GP2U will only collect health information that is necessary to provide a health service, respond to your enquiry, complaint, or requests, provide self-assessment reports and to adequately co-ordinate and manage the provision of products, tools, and services for your use. GP2U will use collected health information with your consent for HCF claiming purposes on your behalf.
HOW WILL HEALTH INFORMATION BE USED?
GP2U will only use collected health information for the purpose of:
- providing you with the service(s) that you have registered.
- providing health information that may be relevant to you.
- analysing and reporting on the effectiveness and acceptability of the GP services provided by GP2U.
GP2U will not use any collected health data for any purpose unrelated to the purpose for which you provided it.
WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE DID NOT COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
It is your right not to give GP2U any personal information, request your information not be disclosed and not to identify yourself to GP2U. However, if you choose not to disclose your personal information, or do not identify yourself to GP2U or ask us not to use or disclose your information for a particular purpose, GP2U may not be able to offer our health services.
